About
Susan Rankin-Pollard loves to draw and color and learn new things. She has a passion for studying form and movement, translating that into seemingly living, breathing characters, and telling a story within the context of a picture. She’s also a pretty big fan of knitting, tea, and 80s music!
A graduate of Philadelphia’s own Moore College of Art and Design and its Illustration program, she now resides with her husband, and an elderly black cat in a charmingly run-down bungalow in San Jose, CA where the tech jobs are plenty and their fruit trees fruit like there’s no tomorrow. Especially the damn persimmon tree.*
Susan’s goal is to find her place in the children’s book world and make lots of people happy with her drawings and stories.
*Fun Fact: Susan had never even seen a persimmon, let alone known it was a real thing before moving to California. Daffy Duck muttering, “Thanksths for the sthour persthimmonsth, cousthin,” had always been cryptically funny to her at best.
